Lords of Hradec and Slavata´s of Chlum and Košumberk in the middle of the 16th century

This diploma thesis deals with two aristocratic families in the middle of the 16th century. The thesis focuses on their connections and relationships between the two most important family representatives - Jáchym from Hradec and Diviš Slavata of Chlum and Košumberk. The first chapter describes the current research on the early modern nobility and their daily life. The second chapter deals with the lords of Hradec with emphasis on Jáchym. The next chapter deals with Slavats of Chlum and Košumberk and Diviš Slavata. The last chapter constitutes the core of given thesis. It describes the formal characters of Diviš's correspondence to his brother-in-law Jáchym and analyses the topics of his letters. Part of the diploma thesis is the edition of this correspondence.

Tumours in historical and social context in the modern period

In the point of view of pathological anatomy, the viscera of diseased person are no more "screen" or "mirror" of the disease, but it becomes directly the "stage" or "theatre" of the acting disease. This shift in the thought may be labelled as movement from humoralism to localism or ontologism; the disease isn't just abnormal amount of some natural juice any more, but becomes new original entity. This change undergoes the understanding of tumours and cancerous disease as well. Instead of antique understanding tumours as precipitates of black bile, the cell theory occurs in the 19th century. Lesser Town of Prague in the Light of the Inspection Protocol of the Theresian Cadastre of 1726

(in English): The practical part of this Bachelor's thesis is focused on making accessible of Inspection Protocol of the Theresian Cadastre from 1726 for the part of Prague called Lesser Town as a computerized database. The database should be useful for wide groups of researchers, who are interested in social, economic, demographic issues of Prague in the 18th Century or in its art-historical, especially building development. In the theoretical part is shortly outlined the development of the oldest czech cadasters, the situation in Lesser Town of Prague after Thirty Years' War and the distinctive position of lateral rights. The aim of following chapters is briefly summarize various types of data, which are recorded in the Inspection Protocol. In each chapter I made an attempt to set a trend, which can be noticed thanks to obtained data, especially for Lesser Town. More detailed analysis of data, which could some readers miss, would exceed the extent of Bachelor's thesis. My personal thoughts of this research are mentioned at the end of each chapter and also are outlined at the end of the work.

Brotherhoods and Guilds of Tradesmen and Craftsmen in Prague Cities from Late Mediaeval Period to the End of Guild System

(in English): This master thesis follows the history of Prague guilds from the very beginning of their system to the end in 1860. Research was focused on cities which created former Prague - Old Town, New Town, Lesser Town and Hradčany. At first, used sources and their evaluation for the above mentioned research are described. There are reflections of the most important moments in the history of guilds in the Czech Lands, especially in Prague towns at that time, in the next chapters. Main goal of this thesis is to reconstruct a picture of all historical guilds and brotherhoods in the cities of Prague. My own research reflects knowledge of previous researchers. These were thereafter compared to some new sources and revised. Unknown parts of the history of Prague guilds were elaborated, such as history of this system in modern period. Based on some particular knowledge of history of singular guilds new hypotheses of general evolution of guilds in Prague were formed. Attached are glossaries of names of professions (Latin, German and Old Czech), that were in Prague towns in the past.

Usage of sandstone bedrock in Bohemian rural environment

The thesis discusses settlement relics and other traces of landscape use in sandstone bedrock of northern Bohemia from medieval ages up to 1st half of the 20th century. Three polygonal areas of interest covering an area of 1 km2 each were selected: area of hamlet Lešnice in the region of Roverské skály, area of Truskavna village in the region of Kokořínsko and area of Podkost village in the Český ráj region. The thesis compares these area and types of object found by field survey from 2015 and 2017-2019. It includes a detailed listing of documented objects, plans of chosen sites and detailed maps for each polygon. MacIntyre´s concept of the development of ethics in modern times

Diploma thesis deals with the analysis of the book by Alasdair MacIntyre ?After virtue. A Study in Moral Theory ? in which the author discusses the crisis of moral values at the time of Modern Period. The main part of the thesis is devoted to this book and also the views of scholars from Classical times up to the early 20th century. The thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter deals with the thoughts of Alasdair MacIntyre, the second chapter discusses emotivism, the third chapter contains an essay on the topic of virtues and examines how values changed and develioped in society throught the ages. The fourth chapter questiones the Modern period and the crisis of values in this time. The fifth chapter is an essay about Friedrich Nietzsche.

The View of the Death in the Thought Conceptions in the Course of History

Dissertation .. The approaches towards death and burial in different historical epochs of mankind dealing with a view of death in intellectual conceptions during the history. People have been engaged in the question of life and deaths for ages. It is one of the oldest, the hardests and the most fundamental questions which are asked. We can think of the death in two levels: a general and a personal. The comprehension of deaths was developing in history. Thesis traces, what affected and how it is possible, that the today`s subject of personal death states taboo, even if masmedia floods us with death of others. For understanding, the thesis goes throught history. From the methodological aspects it follows the time line, divides the history into ancient world, the Middle Ages and modern period, as well as on horizontal line following individually nations and their intellectual directions.
